Coffee Talk…

As I awake & start a new day, I turn on the coffee maker (thank you cuisinart!)…I mosey on over to my laptop, await the decaf (yes, decaf. Do you really want to see me hyped up on caffeine? I assure you, THAT is a site. Think Kelly Clarkson speech speed on 10X!) Anyway, I digress…I wash my face, make my bed and then I pour a hot cup of decaf, of which I add a bit of milk… Yes, I like mine light. No sugar, definitely not cream. For me, milk is just enough. As I sit at my computer, in my pj’s (note: I have pj issue…think Carrie Bradshaw pj’s vs Louboutins!) …I start to come alive, my first thought is always; “Thank you God, Universe & my Angels for this day and thank you for my clients.”…I truly do start my day with those words every single day, as well as end the same way, adding more prayers but you get the just of it. I start each day with a humble heart & a soul full of gratitude…then I think about my dreams, life and what I can do today to move one step forward to better my circumstance…just move the needle forward, create and add to the momentum. For instance, I just realized I didn’t write a blog for Aug OR Sept? Where did the time go? What happened? Did you guys miss me? (insert smile)
Sometimes it’s very easy to forget that everyone has a story to tell. Our lives are all a mixed garden that makes us bloom into the creation we are today, here in this moment. We are so used to being fed stories from the media, #fakenews, that we forget or lose track of the fact that the person in line with us at Starbuck’s, or BetterBuzz also has a fascinating story about where they came from and how they got to be where they are. They may be wearing a smile, caring for others, but what burdens, if any, do they bare? The variety of paths we all take in this world is astounding. From homelessness, to travelers, to multi-millionaires…is a travel channel documentary in itself of what we can learn from each other… that is when we can see a bit of ourselves in others. Even if it’s a glimpse of a shadow version we were for a split second in our own life, somewhere at sometime. The saying; “Still waters run deep” is usually someone quiet, yet has the most amazing journey & story to share…and sometimes even a deep, deep sadness, hidden behind a huge smile & a heart full of service… I am reminded of the beautiful and talented Robin Williams, in this moment. (RIP)
Journey’s can be very different and some of us travel a path of privilege, while others struggle with only themselves to rely on. Both have amazing journeys and stories to share. Everyone one of us learn lessons, make choices, and leave our own footprint on this world. There are many of us who have had similar lives but have different journeys with different outcomes. What if we took the time to ask someone else what they are going thru? What if, we said; “How are you?” and actually MEANT it? What if for one day, we didn’t think about ourselves? I think we would find that most everyone has had some type of hardship, in someway and maybe we could learn something that would be useful to us in ours? There are those that think no one understands what they are going thru and I can’t help but wonder; what if we just share, care and drop the judgement? Wouldn’t it be great to take the time to ask questions, listen and see if we could help each other out? What if we reach out, lend a hand, a shoulder, share our load and just love each other? I believe we would not ever feel alone, and we would see who truly has a loving, caring heart. Taking the time to care about someone else, makes me feel joy inside, even when my world is in a tailspin… How about you??
I recently went to my entrepreneur group get away…perfectly entitled; “Inspired Vaca”… I have watched the creator, Carrie Green for yrs…back then I led a corporate life & just enjoyed her posts. I have watched this young amazing business woman over the years, grow, gain self-esteem, success and admired her never ending persistence in endeavoring to make her dreams come true. She has since written a GREAT book: “She Means Business”, spoke at a “TED-X talk” which has over 6.5million views and she personally has now over ( I believe) 600k followers… to be mentored by someone so kind, persistent & successful is such a blessing and inspiration…However, what did effect me the most was the authentic way she spoke opening about her challenges, her doubts and her never ending little voice in her head, but none the less she persists! Her story is one of many, many successful women I had the pleasure to hang out with in Palm Springs… Everyone was successful, happy, intelligent, smiling…and everyone had a story & we all had some fears… I have learned that creating change has a recipe; Persistence, Patience, Consistency, Tenacity, Desire & Drive…It’s just a great reminder to me, that it’s all done one step, one day, one dream at a time. I have learned we can choose to treat ourselves with the same enthusiasm, support & happiness we show others.
We all have the choice, everyday, maybe we can choose a little more mindfully… I sure am going to try…
As always, with an open heart…
